Emergency Assistance

From time to time, the Eos Foundation also provides Emergency Assistance Grants to help organizations meet the critical needs of low-income individuals and families. Read more about our 2008 and 2009 grants.

Our current Emergency Assistance Grantees include:

Cape Cod Times Needy Fund
Since 1936, the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund has been helping needy families through emergencies. The fund provides financial assistance to Cape Cod residents for basic human needs such as food, rent, mortgage payments, utility and heating bills, medical costs and other basic expenses.

Council on Churches/Hands of Hope
Hands of Hope Outreach Center, a program of the Cape Cod Council on Churches, provides temporary relief to Mid-Cape individuals and families experiencing hard times.

Falmouth Service Center
The Falmouth Service Center works to ease stress, reduce hunger, and improve the quality of life for Cape residents in need.

The Family Pantry
Serving nearly 800 families per month, the Family Pantry's mission is to provide food and clothing to those in need.

Lower Cape Outreach Council 
For 30 years, the Lower Cape Outreach Council has provided short-term emergency assistance to families and individuals on the Lower Cape.

Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts works to reduce hunger and increase food security in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties.

Greater Boston Food Bank
The Greater Boston Food Bank works to help end hunger in eastern Massachusetts, distributing more than 30 million pounds of food and feeding over 320,000 people each year.

Jewish Family Services of MetroWest
Jewish Family Services of MetroWest is a nonprofit agency providing social and community services for people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds.

Merrimack Valley Food Bank
The Merrimack Valley Food Bank is a community-supported nonprofit organization that provides nutritious food and personal care items to emergency feeding programs serving the low-income, homeless and hungry.

Project Bread
Project Bread is dedicated to alleviating, preventing, and ultimately ending hunger in Massachusetts and operates the Food Source Hotline. In collaboration with Project Bread, the Eos Foundation also identified and provided Summer Food Grants to aid federally-funded Summer Food Service Programs run by the Barnstable County Department of Human Services, the Friendly House in Worcester, the Healthy Peabody Collaborative, and the Framingham, Salem, Springfield, and Waltham Public Schools.

Worcester County Food Bank
The Worcester County Food Bank works to provide relief from hunger in 60 communities across Central Massachusetts.
